Please join me at a Virtual Town Hall to hear a discussion about the safety of patients and staff at our nursing homes from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This event will be Tuesday, April 28, at 3 p.m. My guests will include state nursing home executives, county regulators, patient advocates, and a Los Angeles Times reporter who has written extensively on this subject. As you may know, a large number of the deaths from COVID-19 are now occurring in congregate care facilities. Residents and staff live and work in close quarters, which has contributed to the spread of the virus. We will engage in conversations with knowledgable experts to fully understand current conditions, safety standards, public oversight, and consumer protections in these disease hotspots. You may join this conversation starting at 3 p.m. Tuesday by streaming the audio over my website at https://sd07.senate.ca.gov/. We will also have a limited number of listen-only telephone lines available. Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, call 844-291-5489 and use this access code: 1333740 # Because of the number of participants, we will be taking only written questions for this conversation. Please submit any questions you may have before or during the call to [email protected] You may submit questions whether or not you intend to participate. Recordings of my first 14 Coronavirus Town Halls are already on my web site. The topics are:
