Masking Recommendation
The Alameda County Public Health Department is strongly recommending that all Alameda County residents wear a face covering while indoors regardless of vaccination status. This recommendation has been made as we continue to see an increase of COVID-19 cases in Alameda County. See the press release for more information.
Cal/OSHA Model COVID-19 Prevention Program
The revised Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards continues to require employers to develop an effective written COVID-19 Prevention Program. In June 2021, Cal/OSHA issued an updated model COVID-19 Prevention Program to assist employers in the development of their COVID-19 prevention programs.
How to Use a Respirator
Effective June 17, 2021, the revised Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards requires employers to make respirators, such as an N95, available to all not fully vaccinated employees for voluntary use. Additionally, employers are required to provide the employee with basic instruction on how to get a good “seal,” or fit. The OSHA website provides educational videos on how to properly take on and take off respirators available in both English and Spanish.
Employer Vaccine Toolkit
We encourage employers that would like to educate their employees about the COVID-19 vaccine to utilize the State’s Vaccination Toolkit as well as the CDC’s Vaccination Toolkit. Employees are able to use paid sick leave or COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave to go their vaccine appointment or if they experience vaccine-related side effects.
Vaccination Pop Ups
Alameda County is partnering with local organizations, including but not limited to: community- or faith-based organizations, advocacy groups, employers, housing developments, encampments, or neighborhood groups that need an on-site vaccination clinic in order to equitably distribute vaccine amongst our residents.

If you are interested in requesting a “pop-up” mobile vaccination clinic, please fill out the Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Interest Form. The purpose of this survey is to collect information required for scheduling a vaccination clinic with your organization. Please note, vaccination clinics are intended as one-time events, and typically range from 30-300 doses per clinic. Depending on the vaccine type, we may need you to host a 2nd dose clinic 3- or 4-weeks later. Submitting a form does not guarantee a clinic can be scheduled.

If you have any questions, concerns, or difficulties activating the link, please send an email to Renee Yun at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
